T In The Park
Ok the first thing that struck me about going to this festival was the distance from my comfortable home here in sunny Harlow in Essex. Ok it might have one of the best line ups of the summer festivals but going to Scotland for a festival was it really worth it? Well I can safely say that it was worth the long train journey there and back and once again the atmosphere of the Scottish crowds amazed me.
At least I had the comfort of a seat and a table on the train but for the unlucky few cramped in the Ramsey Mobile for the long drive up to Kinross near Edinburgh which were Colin, Craig, Pepsi, Wolla and Zara. But hey it got them there so fair do's to the Ramsey Mobile it did well and I congratulate Colin on its success.
Wow what a great weekend such a different festival to Glastonbury but I would have to say I enjoyed this weekend about the same as Glastonbury. It is hard to compare them because they are both different kinds of festivals. I think the reason this festival came so close to Glastonbury was because I believe the music was so much better at this festival than at Glastonbury but as I've said before Glastonbury is so much more than just music. Once again whoever is in control of the weather was kind to us and we were putting suntan lotion on for protection from the sun.
OK the bands which I saw at T In The Park
Saturday
Polythonic Spree, Oasis, Leaves, Athlete, The Music, Haven, A, Idlewild (not whole set), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Coral.
Sunday
The Shining, Cornelius, Electric Soft Parade, Mull Historical Society, Doves, Biffy Clyro.

Ok and out of these bands here is my top five, but remember this is Balco's personal opinion and not necessarily the views of embraceboarders as a whole.
1. The Music: They were fantastic and what got this to the top of the list was the fact that we were right up at the barrier so how can I put this we went totally crazy and F**K**g had it right down the front.
2. Doves: Wow the more and more I see of this band the more and more I love them (in the musical sense you understand) when this band play live you should see the front half of the crowd it is amazing everyone joins in the jumping and its great.
3. The Coral: Ok I saw the Coral at Glastonbury and I would have to say I was a little disappointed but I can only assume it was the set up because they were so much better here than there and have managed to get into the coveted top five of Balco.
4. Leaves: Ok before the festival I may have heard one of their songs but did not know much about them. We went along to see them because Zara said they were good and it also meant we would get a good position for the music who were on a while after them. I can say I was really impressed and am so pleased I went to see them because when I got home I listened to some of their stuff and since have gone out and bought their album and I would recommend you all go out and buy it as well because it is a very good album. Thank you Zara for introducing them to me.
5. Oasis: Right OK I know loads of people are going to wonder why the hell have I put Oasis at number 5 well all I can say is I'm not quite sure myself apart from when I was putting the top five together I can safely say that I enjoyed the ones above them more and that is the simple reason. Their were some other bands that almost pushed them out of the top five, such as The shining or Haven but I decided to include them at five with the other two mentioned.
Ok let me know what you think of my top five on my messageboard I bet you have a few things to say about Stereophonics being my number one. Come on I'm ready for you!!!!!!!
