Glastonbury Festival
This is the festival that I couldn't wait to go to. I am so pleased that I went and I can now say that I have been to Glastonbury and what a festival it is. The campsite opens up on the Wednesday so you can get into the festival spirit on the Wednesday and leave the outside world behind until you leave the site the following Monday. (but if you wish, you can buy daily newspapers at the sites newsagents to check the world isn't coming to an end while you have the time of your life)
A few weeks before I thought there would only be a few people going that I knew but as it got nearer I found that we would be camping in a group of about 22 people. So when we got there on the Wednesday the first things we had to do was put the tents up and then go about constructing the fence around our Glastonbury Village community which would be our festival home for the next 6 days.

Ok the campsite might open up on the Wednesday but there is no official music on until the Friday. The first few days is spent looking around the many shops and areas of Glastonbury site which is not related to music and let me tell you this is vast and is just like a mini town which is created in the middle of the countryside. The size of the site is just to hard to explain in words and just take my word for it. But if you really want to see what I mean you will have to come along next year to the Glastonbury Festival.
This is the only festival out of the four where they officially allow you to have a fire going at your camp site which adds to the experience of the night times at the campsites, They also provide free fire wood to use on the fires because this burns better and they prefer you not to use branches from the trees in the area. Remember Glastonbury is about being green and pulling down tree branches is not that clever is it now !!!! Several of the nights after the bands had finished was spent sitting around the camp fire with the genius guitar player Matt playing till the early hours of the morning.

OK the bands which I saw at Glastonbury

Ok and out of these bands here is my top five, but remember this is Balco's personal opinion and not necessarily the views of embraceboarders as a whole.
Ok it was hard to pick because every time I tried to do this list I changed my mind but here goes.
1.Stereophonics: Sorry but it was a great performance and if you don't believe me ask Shaz who was right down the front for them as well.
2. Coldplay: What a great performance from the band who seem to have managed to break into the American music scene.
3. Rolf Harris: What else can I say, than if you ever get the chance to see him go and see him, he was the king of Glastonbury and got the biggest crowd for such an early time on the pyramid stage.
4. Badly Drawn Boy: He did not have enough time to practice with the band so he decided to do the performance on his own without the band and what a great decision that was. It was amazing with just him on such a large stage, people who were there will know what I mean.
5. Faithless: Right because I saw them at V2001 I knew they were great at getting the crowd going so I went to see them this year and I was not disappointed at all they were great and the crowd got involved just as I thought they would.
Ok let me know what you think of my top five on my messageboard I bet you have a few things to say about Stereophonics being my number one. Come on I'm ready for you!!!!!!!
